What is Bharat Tracker?
Bharat Tracker is a GPS vehicle tracking platform from Bharat Mechanics Private Limited. A tracker in the vehicle reports its live location; the apps and dashboard turn that into a live map, alerts, trip history, attendance and reports for fleet owners, schools, parents and drivers.
How do I get started?
Download the app or contact us. For one vehicle, the Starter plan is free: we fit the tracker and you see it live the same day. For a school or fleet, we set up your routes, vehicles and users with you in an afternoon.
Do I need special hardware?
Yes — a GPS tracker is fitted in each vehicle by our installation network. For school buses and commercial vehicles we supply AIS 140-approved devices; anti-theft cut-off needs a device with a relay.
Which states do you cover?
We support customers across 22 Indian states with local installation and 24×7 support in Hindi and English.
For schools
How do boarding alerts work?
When a child boards, the conductor taps the child's NFC sticker on the reader or marks them in the driver app. The parent gets a notification within seconds, and the tap is recorded as attendance. The same happens at drop.
Can a bus run more than one route?
Yes. Routes are separate from trips: assign the same bus, driver and conductor to a morning and an evening run, or to different routes on different days.
What do parents see?
Only their own child's bus: its live position, the next stop, and their child's boarding, drop, approaching and delay alerts. Parents never see other children or other routes.
What happens in an emergency?
The driver app has a one-tap SOS. It alerts the school office and the guardians on that bus immediately, with the bus's live location attached.
For fleets & rentals
How does remote engine cut-off work?
A relay wired into the ignition or fuel circuit is switched from the app. The engine cannot be restarted, while the tracker keeps reporting location for recovery. Cut-off is applied only when the vehicle is stationary or crawling and every command is logged.
Is your tracker AIS 140 compliant?
Yes. We supply ARAI/ICAT-certified AIS 140 devices for vehicles that require them, and the dashboard stores each vehicle's registration, engine and chassis numbers for inspections.
Can I see fuel and idle-time reports?
Yes. Idle time, harsh braking and acceleration, route deviation and trip history are available per vehicle and per driver, and can be exported to CSV.
Pricing & billing
Is the first vehicle really free?
Yes — free forever, with live GPS, trip history and alerts. It is the easiest way to pilot one route or one truck.
Are there setup fees?
No. There are no setup, activation or onboarding fees on any plan. GPS hardware is a one-time purchase.
How do I cancel?
Monthly plans can be cancelled at the end of any billing month from your dashboard or by contacting support. See our refund policy for details.
Privacy & support
What data do you collect?
Vehicle GPS location, device information and the account details you provide. We track vehicles, not people, and we never sell data to third parties. Read our privacy policy for the full picture.
How is children's data handled?
A child's record holds only what the school needs to run the route — name, class, stop and guardian contact. It is visible to the school and that child's guardians only, and is deleted when the school removes the student.
